Title: Dragon Boat Culture Going Global: Innovative Paths for Cross-Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning

Abstract: Chinese dragon boat culture has a long history of overseas dissemination, with dragon boat racing and the Dragon Boat Festival culture taking center stage. Dragon boat racing is not only a folk activity combining competitiveness and entertainment value, but has also been designated as a National Traditional Sport in the 1980s. Its core spirit of positivity, courage, and resilience serves as the deep-seated logic and intrinsic driving force propelling dragon boat culture to transcend geographical boundaries and achieve global dissemination. In the process of overseas dissemination, through organizing or participating in international dragon boat competitions and building cross-cultural exchange platforms, dragon boat sports have demonstrated remarkable adaptability and inclusiveness. This is evident in how they break ethnic barriers and gender divisions through public participation, and foster localized cultural integration and diversified roles, such as serving as a means of physical and mental healing. The overseas dissemination of dragon boat culture in the new era will be guided by deepening civilizational exchanges and mutual learning, exploring more practical approaches in narrative innovation, intangible cultural heritage preservation, and the sharing of governance experiences.
