Title: Telling China's Stories with Intangible Cultural Heritage Going Global as the Carrier: A Study Based on the Overseas Communication of the Dance Drama Wing Chun and Yingge Dance

Abstract: Against the dual backdrop of building a culturally strong nation and deepening global communication, intangible cultural heritage (ICH), as a vital carrier of fine traditional Chinese culture, has become a key approach to telling China’s stories well through its overseas dissemination. As the core region of Lingnan culture and a treasure trove of intangible cultural heritage, Guangdong has achieved remarkable results in the overseas communication of the dance drama Wing Chun and Chaoshan Yingge Dance in recent years, creating a phenomenal cultural communication effect and providing vivid examples for telling China’s stories well via ICH going global. Taking these two typical cases of ICH going global as research objects, this paper sorts out their practical contexts of overseas performances and digital communication, and analyzes their shared experiences and distinctive paths in the transformation of cultural symbols, innovation of narrative strategies, and construction of communication channels. The study finds that telling China’s stories well through ICH going global requires a four-dimensional path of "symbol concretization, narrative universalization, channel diversification, and immersive experience". By precisely aligning the cultural core of ICH with universal values of the world and deeply integrating traditional expression with modern communication technologies, communication can be upgraded from cultural display to value recognition. This paper aims to provide practical paradigms and theoretical references for telling China’s stories well through ICH going global and promoting the international dissemination of fine traditional Chinese culture.
