中华文化在加拿大:粤剧艺术家杨海城的戏曲理念和传播实践

摘要:粤剧艺术家杨海城在广东湛江入行,成为著名的文武生;后来到澳门创办澳门粤剧学院,再赴加拿大创办杨海城粤剧学院、加拿大粤剧协会。杨海城从艺六十余年,德艺双馨,被誉为加拿大的“万能老倌”。他的戏曲经历丰富,戏曲理念传统而开放。杨海城在海内外推动粤剧教育,搜集保护粤剧文物文献,矢志不渝传承粤剧,得到加拿大各界赞誉,反映了中华戏曲在北美的当代传播。

Title: Chinese Culture in Canada: The Philosophy of Chinese Traditional Opera and Performance Practices of Cantonese Opera Artist Ieong Hoi Seng
Abstract: Cantonese Opera Artist Ieong Hoi Seng began his career in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, becoming a renowned "wenwu sheng" (actor specializing in both literary and martial roles). He moved to Macau and founded the Macau Cantonese Opera Academy, later moved to Vancouver and established the Ieong Hoi Seng Cantonese Opera Academy and the Canadian Cantonese Opera Association. With over six decades of a great wealth of artistic experience and the title of "Universal Master" in Canada, Ieong Hoi Seng is virtuous and accomplished, holding traditional yet open-minded views on the art form. He has promoted Cantonese opera education both domestically and internationally, collected and preserved opera-related artifacts and documents, and remained steadfast in his commitment to passing down the art. His contributions are widely admired in Canada, which also reflect the contemporary dissemination of Chinese traditional opera in North America.
